Submit a Manuscript
Submissions to Structure and Sense are currently by invitation only as we prepare our inaugural issue. Scholars interested in contributing are encouraged to contact the editors directly.
Submission Types
Structure & Sense focuses on shorter manuscripts though we welcome extended pieces where the argument requires it. There is no strict word limit, but contributors are expected to present their argument or findings concisely and to write for an interdisciplinary audience without sacrificing precision.
- Research Articles — manuscripts reporting original empirical research or advancing conceptual analysis on the relationship between rational systems and human meaning-making.
- Commentaries — fresh perspectives on major public issues involving technology, work, and organizations, or responses to manuscripts published in the journal.
- Review Essays — synthetic analyses that provide context for multiple recent publications in relevant fields.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions of any type should include the following:
- A cover letter describing the manuscript and its contribution
- A title page with full author information
- An anonymized manuscript prepared for double-anonymous review
Structure & Sense uses the Open Journal System for manuscript management. As we prepare our inaugural issue, prospective contributors are welcome to reach out directly before submitting formally.
